Recomended books by authors similar to Patricia Briggs?

Juliet Marillier. As far as I know, only two of her books (Wildwood Dancing & Cybele's Secret) are young adult, the rest are adult. I recommend starting with Heart's Blood. It's currently a standalone, though I think Marillier is in the process of writing a sequel. All her books that I've read have a woman as the main character, there is a lot of sorcery (especially in Heart's Blood), some fighting/wars, and they all take place in the past.
